Keeping fit and staying healthy have, not surprisingly, become a growth industry. Quite apart from the amount of money spent each year on doctors’ prescriptions and approved medical treatment, huge sums are now spent on health foods and drugs of various kinds, from vitamin pills to mineral water, not to mention clubs and keep-fit books and videos. To give a personal example, one of my friends, who is a keep-fit fanatic, a non-smoker and teetotaler, and who is very detailed about what he eats, is at present languishing in bed with a wrist in plaster and a badly sprained ankle.

Kids aren’t born physically literate-just like they aren’t born knowing how to read or count. He is the lead author for many books, including Exercise Science: Introduction to Health and Physical Education and Healthy Active Living: Keep Fit Stay Healthy Have Fun, used in Ontario and New Brunswick. He is a certified personal trainer with The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiologist (CSEP). Ted was the recipient of the Ontario Physical and Health Education Association’s Outstanding Contribution Award in 2008.

Written by teachers for Canadian students, the "Student Activity Handbook" is a workbook/lab manual to accompany the Healthy Active Living: Keep Fit, Stay Healthy, Have Fun student resource. There are two Student Activity. There are two Student Activity Handbooks: one for Grade 9 and one for Grade 10. The activities follow the student resource unity-by-unit and chapter-by-chapter, and are keyed to the learning outcomes for each grade.

Keeping fit and staying healthy have, not surprisingly, become a growth industry. We are more concerned than ever, it seems, about the water we drink and the air we breathe, and are smoking less, though not yet drinking less alcohol.

What are some ways to stay healthy and fit? Such as going for jogs. simple things like that Dancing is very good exercise for the whole body and should keep your heart in shape too and is very fun do to also! Just put on your favourite music and dance like nobody is around - it keeps you fit and also makes you happy too, Do something else with friends whether it being an afterschool activity, or club or whatever you want. Badminton is fun with your friends and keeps you fit too, improves your coordination - the list can go on, and whatever exercise you do, it is all good for you!
