This book has some good ideas, but if you think about college readiness and what it takes for students to be ready it is all pretty much common sense. He is just putting the thoughts together for you.

I had to get this book for school although I didn't read the entire thing, the language was easy to understand and the author kept things interesting!

In his newest book, David Conley's excellent research and deep thinking continue to enrich the conversation on creating college success. This book weaves together many of Conley's precepts and experience: the focus on developing cognitive strategies and imparting content knowledge to students; practical ideas that both parents and schools can implement to prepare students for college; and years of quantitative and qualitative research. This is a "must read" for all of us who are working to create educational equity.
