I am a PC person that switched from 4 years of Droid phones and tablets. I bought an iPhone5 because of some of the apps not available on Droids. I am not the typical user with lots of music. I listen to audiobooks and some podcasts. Audible is just fine. The app is perfect, and you can avoid iTunes. Podcasts are a disaster. I had problems with syncing and passwords. I have 3 regular use computers. Why can I only sync on one? I found workaround, but not in book. I was looking for a basic book to give me some answers about simple problems I was having. It gave instructions on how to find missing artwork, but not what do do if it didn't work (on a major semi recent soundtrack). None of my friends using iTunes could understand what I was asking. The book is very simplistic "if you do X then Y will happen". Well yes, but if Z happens you are out of luck. iTunes is a one way highway. Windows Explorer and Windows Media Player are two way highways. I'm not sure if my frustration is with iTunes or with the book. The book is OK for basics which is why I gave it 3 stars. If you need a primer, this is OK. If you need detailed help, which I did, keep looking. If you think this will help you make the decision to switch from Android to Apple DONT!

This book was written before Apple really moved to the Cloud and there is no mention of how to deal with a host of new issues that stem from this change--most of the problems found today are not touched upon in this book. These matters are fundamental to the new iTunes and a book about iTunes that does not address them is not a good expenditure of time or money. It might have deserved a high rated when it was first published, but now it should be discarded for for current information. Start with the iTunes website.

The book works great. I have enjoyed bringing my ITunes up to pace with the current opprtunities that it is cappable of.
